Joint Cross Party Group Meeting: Smoking & Health and Poverty
Smoking remains one of the biggest causes of health inequality, disproportionately affecting those living in poverty. This Joint Cross-Party Group discussion will explore the complex relationship between smoking, poverty, and inequality, focusing on how investing in smoking cessation can play a vital role in reducing disparities in health and wellbeing.
Through expert presentations and open discussion, we will examine:
- The impact of smoking on financially disadvantaged communities
Barriers to accessing stop-smoking services
How tailored support can help more people quit for good
We welcome contributions from health professionals, policymakers, researchers, and those with lived experience of smoking cessation.
