In an ever-changing landscape, our mission remains more important than ever. Smoking continues to be the leading cause of preventable illness and death in Wales, and we are unwavering in our commitment to tackle this crisis at ASH Wales.
From championing bold tobacco control policies to supporting communities and individuals in their journey to quit smoking, we have risen to new challenges with determination and collaboration.Â
Advancing the Tobacco & Vapes Bill:
We will collaborate closely with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the tobacco and vapes bill this groundbreaking legislation. Driving forward measures like raising the age of sale, increasing vape regulations, and creating more smoke-free spaces.
Expanding Smoke-Free Spaces
Building on our achievements, we will support the designation of additional smoke-free areas across Wales, including beaches, school gates and other public spaces, helping to create environments that protect everyone from tobacco harm.
Providing Educational Resources
We will continue to develop and share accessible resources through our website and networks, empowering individuals, educators, and health professionals with the tools they need to support smoke-free initiatives.
