Can a pharmacy help me stop smoking?
Yes. Community pharmacies are part of the stop-smoking support available in Wales. Depending on the service in your area, you may be able to get advice, regular support and stop-smoking treatment through a pharmacy.
What can a pharmacy do?
Pharmacy support varies by area, but it can include:
- talking through your smoking and your quit plan
- regular support from trained staff
- nicotine replacement therapy such as patches, gum or lozenges
- support alongside the wider Help Me Quit service
- referral into other Help Me Quit options if another route suits you better
Do I need an appointment?
It depends on the service. Help Me Quit says that in many cases you will need to pre-book.
The easiest option is to check the local service finder or contact Help Me Quit before you travel.
Which route sounds easiest?
You do not have to choose the “best” service. Choose the one you are most likely to use.
