What Is the Menu of Addiction?

The Menu of Addiction is a campaign resource designed to shine a spotlight on the latest products being sold by Big Tobacco and their criminal partners—products like illegal vapes, nicotine pouches, and heated tobacco devices. These items are not only illegal in many cases but are carefully crafted to entice young people into a lifetime of addiction, often at the expense of their health and wellbeing.

Report Illegal Sales

Did you know children in Wales are being sold illegal tobacco and vapes every day? These products are unregulated, often exceed legal nicotine limits, and are sold without ID checks.  See it? Report it! No Ifs no Butts.

Why This Matters?

Big Tobacco has mastered the art of making addiction look appealing. They target the young and vulnerable, using flavours, designs, and marketing tricks to create a new generation of nicotine addicts. These products aren’t just addictive—they’re dangerous, contributing to:

Lifelong addiction with severe physical, mental, and emotional health impacts.

Increased risk of chronic diseases, including respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

Financial strain on individuals, families, and our healthcare system.

A thriving illegal market that funds crime and undermines public health.

Key Stats

Over half of secondary school children in Wales who vape use unregulated devices with more than 600 puffs.

10% of the tobacco market in Wales is illegal, making it easier for children to start smoking.

Children are most likely to be offered illegal tobacco by friends or family (39%), in schools (17%), or in shops (11%).
