Wales Tobacco or Health Network
Webinar & Panel Event – Monday 22nd March
2:00 -3:30pm
2:00 -3:30pm
About the event
Smoking rates among 15/16 year-olds in Wales have remained stagnant since 2013. Around 6,000 children in Wales take up smoking every year and 3 out of 4 of those children will go on to be long-term smokers.
Chaired by Suzanne Cass, Chief Executive of ASH Wales, the webinar will:
- examine the latest figures and see how this links into the sharp rise in smoking and cannabis use among young people
- identify ways of reducing the uptake of smoking in the under 20s
- consider ways in which the new curriculum in Wales can facilitate an effective programme of prevention
